"350th Prakash Utsav" m/s on FDC from India

On January 5, 2017, the Indian Post put into circulation what is probably one of the prettiest souvenir sheets in the recent years, devoted to the 350th Prakash Utsav (or Prakash Parv) corresponding to the 350th anniversary of the birth in Patna (State of Bihar) of the 10th and last Guru of Sikhism, Guru Gobind Singh (1666-1708), a spiritual master, a warrior, a poet and a philosopher.
Sikhism is a monotheistic religion founded in northern India in the 15th century by Guru Nanak (1469-1539). The doctrine of Sikhism is based on the spiritual teachings of the Ten Gurus, collected in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
A stamp (10 Rp, print run : 301,590), designed by Sh. Kamleshwar Singh, was issued as well as a souvenir sheet (print run : 100,000) with that same stamp.

This souvenir sheet was used on the envelope above, with the First Day cancellation from Kolkata. Thank you so much Alka!
The stamp od this souvenir sheet features Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, one of the five most important temples of Sikhism, considered as one of the five Takhts (the five "thrones" of this religion), the five main gurdwara (temples) after the Golden Temple (Harmandir Sahib) of Amritsar.
The other four Takhts are Akal Takht, Takht Sri Keshgarh, Takht Sri Damdama and Takht Sri Hazur.
This temple Takht Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib, damaged by an earthquake in 1934, was built in Patna at the birthplace of Guru Gobind Singh (some relics are preserved there).
The most important religious symbol of Sikhism, khaṇḍā, made up of several weapons commonly used by Sikhs, is depicted in the top left corner of this stamp.
